In other words, you have just merely proven my point about a lack of objectivity and a rejection of scientific facts within the conservative media bubble. It would appear that you are very much in that "bubble" and unwilling and unable to look at society in a rational and objective manner.

An objective perspective would easily reject your beliefs about liberals and their delight in "killing babies" when their true stance is to make birth-control easily available and more scientifically enhanced. If unwanted pregnancies never occurred, then abortions would happen very rarely. Yet because social conservatives are anti-sex as well as being pro-life, it fosters the social phenomenon of abortion as a final recourse to controlling unwanted births.

BTW - I am a moderate and I happen to drive a Prius. So I tend to live my beliefs and values where possible. Also, GM and Chrysler are reporting the best sales of cars for a long time. Doesn't sound like they are very insolvent to me, just more conservative talking points that bear little resemblance to reality.

As for progressing the nation to a more optimal level of livability, these days I would side with those organizations that are politically progressive. They have, at least, already shown the way to a better nation for all instead of a nation merely governed for those who already have acquired their fortunes. We have already experienced a time when the nation was run for the wealthy few, and that was the Gilded Age of the 1890's - a period that I wouldn't want to return to.

Conservative politicians have shown themselves to less interested in working through a consensus or any kind of compromise than just engaging in power politics and a no-compromise policy hostage taking mindset. When conservative politicians change their behavior, then there will be plenty of mutual business and governing to transact. The problem is that the Democrats have been willing to work across the aisle, and the Republicans are only interested in pushing their conservative agenda at the cost of any kind of governing.

Anyway, this is not a political blog, so enough said about that.

FBFrater.Barrabbashttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11689013897789072360noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6817682567561164198.post-55285716514181618282012-11-09T07:44:06.444-06:002012-11-09T07:44:06.444-06:00Wow, way to pick on the worst of the worst. Instea...Wow, way to pick on the worst of the worst. Instead of taking a post and saying "this is the stuff we agree on, this is the stuff we should work towards", you not only don't attack the other candidate, you frame your entire argument as "us against them". Us wasn't up for election. Neither was Them. This is the sort of thinking I see on a lot of supposedly liberal and tolerant sites and from supposedly liberal and tolerant people which is neither liberal and tolerant. It shouldn't be us-against-them, it should be about ideals. On political websites, I tend to give this a pass. On a blog about ritual magic I would hope you have more introspection than most people.

Look - I can do it too. So called liberals want to enable abortion any time for any reason, so killing your children is as easy as going to McDonalds! Liberals want to drive SUVs (because we shouldn't judge what they drive) and call the troops baby-killers while having their abortions! Partial birth abortion should be called Vaginal Chokers so we don't get to hear the babies cry!

Why does it rustle your jimmies? Because it's not your opinion. Neither is mine represented by a vocal minority at redstate or whatever you're reading. What did this do? It raised anger and animosity between us to put words in each others mouths. How do we progress America, let alone each other, if we hold these attitudes? Why let fear and anger run the day? When you point out what the worst of the worst is doing and saying on each side, you feed that egrigore.

We should instead be focusing on what America is going correctly - the war on drugs might be winding down and gay rights have expanded - and praise ourselves. We should be pointing out what we could be doing better - The GM bailout was ineffective because they're insolvent again. We didn't raise tariffs on imported cars to pay for it. Obamacare isn't single-payer and copays are now higher than the cost of generic drugs.

Once we identify them we can truly work across the aisle. It shouldn't ever be "us against them", it should be "lets consider each others ideas".

(Yes I voted Republican, because I felt like Obama was doing everything half-measure).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6817682567561164198.post-30612566451309712822012-11-08T07:36:57.274-06:002012-11-08T07:36:57.274-06:00Love the Batman reference, LOL!
